Summer Fun

At the end of the summer our family tradition is to ride tracks down town and play. This year we went to the church museum, lunch and gateway. Haley, Emmy and Kemry show what good cousins they are. None of the girls wanted to get wet, but they had a good time running around the fountains.
Dallin and Daniel got right under the fountains and got soaked. They had a good time with Jake and Skylar Robson.
Ian and Kylee decided to read the names on the wall. Too bad they can't read.
The boys thought that they were big enough to stand up on the ride down town. Daniel posed for this picture by pretending to punch Skylar Robson in the face.
Emmy and Ian decided to sit down for the ride. What a good idea.
At the church museum the kids dressed up as the nativity scene. They look so cute. This is definitely going to make the calender next year.
Kylee and Ian took good care of their babies in the hospital area of the museum. Ian loved playing doctor.
The boys took a long time to eat all the candy that I brought. Once the candy was gone they were willing to get wet.

This year we have spend a lot of time at the pool. Ian and Kemry are getting more comfortable with the water every time. Ian loves playing on the stairs and Kemry is working really hard to to be a good swimmer. She loves putting her head under the water. She wears goggles but I can't get her to put them on tight, so she is always getting water in them. Oh well, at least they are there.

This summer we had a Jaffa family party. It was so fun to see all of my cousins and their children. The kids played red-rover and had a really good time with the extended cousins.

Aunt Linda asked us questions about Grandma Betty and Grandpa Charlie Jaffa. It was fun to learn new things about Grandpa and Grandma Jaffa.

Poor Paul, I made him go to "Tina and Tony's Wedding" while we were in Vegas and he had to be the cowboy when they played YMCA. He is such a good sport and did a good job. We had a lot of fun on our trip to Vegas. It was so nice to leave the kids home and enjoy time together.
One Tuesday we went to Thanksgiving point and saw the farm. The kids loved seeing all of the animals, even the ugly chickens that we saw. This is a big plastic cow that they all were able to fit on.
Kemry sat so cute in this window at the farm.
We told all of the kids to hang out the windows. They fought a lot about where they were going to sit, but we finally got the picture.
The kids loved seeing the baby goats. They spent the most time following the littlest goat around.

Another Tuesday we took the kids to liberty park. The highlight of the day is always playing in the ponds. The kids love to get wet and follow the rivers around. Dallin was sad that he missed this day, since he was on his way to Boston.
Here is another Tuesday activity, the Dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point. Ian and Luke would not get close to this plastic shark, but the big kids were not scared.
Kemry, Haley, Emmy, Dallin and Ian standing in front of some dinosaur bones.
Instead of digging for dinosaur bones Ian decide to go for a swim. Luke didn't want to get dirty so he sat on the edge of the dirt. The big kids took their job very seriously, they were going to get those bones and didn't want anyone to get in the way.

This summer we have had a lot of fun. Every Tuesday we get together with out cousins and go visit different places around Salt Lake. It is fun to see the kids discover the world around them, sometime we learn important things, like what to do if you don't get off the train when everyone else is getting off. Thank goodness Haley was smart and did the right thing. It is fun to hang out with Grandma, although I am sure she wonders why she puts herself through the trouble.
